This ring has such a dynamic stone!

The stone set in this ring is a deep blue oval kyanite cabochon. The shade of blue reminds me of the most open parts of the ocean- not the kind of blue you'd see on the beach, but the kind of blue you'd see in a NatGeo marine documentary. Kyanite is not only used in jewelry, but it is used in the mechanical world as well! Kyanite is a very fibrous stone and is highly conductive, which is why it is often used in spark plugs. Interesting, right? It's not often at all that I get kyanite that is gemmy enough to set in jewelry, so this one is a rare find!
